Denise Bennerson, Ph. D is an award winning
photographer. She is webmaster of
Homeland Collections
for the past twelve years in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. She is passionate about
capturing special moments in people lives. She is
the former President
of, “St. Croix Digital Photography Club.” She has participated in
many art exhibits: St. Croix Digital Photography Club Exhibitions,
Good Hope’s Annual Caribbean Fine Art Exhibit and the Caribbean Museum
Center for the Arts. Her photos have been featured in the “Crucian
Christmas Festival” booklet, “Saveur,” a national magazine on authentic
cuisine, “This Week St. Croix,” and many individuals in “St. Croix VI International Black
Pages.” Her recent engagement photograph titled, "Tender Interlude" received
an Accolade of Excellence in the Wedding & Portrait Photographers
International 2007 8 x 10 Print Competition.
In addition, her client list continues to grow and they request
custom designed framed portraits
to hang in their homes. She photographs weddings and
special events in people lives.
Recently, Bennerson had the opportunity to
photograph one of the most phenomenal events in St. Croix, Virgin Islands
the
VI Family Tree & History
Exhibit.
It
showcased over fifty families exhibiting their family trees in one
place. It brought home the importance of photographing our family now for
future generations to come. She felt that the photographs recorded visual
history (that can not be described by writing) by allowing us to see what
people looked like at various times and do we resemble that person,
today.
